Leeds fans react on Twitter following Garry Monk Rangers speculation
By Amir Mir
Garry Monk has been touted for a move to Rangers – and Leeds fans on Twitter have said that they can’t see him leaving the club.
The Daily Mail claim Monk and out-of-work manager Gary Rowett could be identified as possible replacements for Mark Warburton.
Warburton left his role at Ibrox last Friday and since then a number of candidates have been linked to take over the Englishman in Glasgow.
Monk is one of those names, but the Elland Road faithful believe their key man will not swap the Championship for the Scottish Premiership.
The Gers are struggling in the SPL, with their Old Firm rivals Celtic running away with the title with a mammoth 27 point lead.
By contrast, Monk is doing a tremendous job with Leeds in the Championship as he has guided them to a top six place with the possibility of a return to the Premier League looming.
One fan stated that he found the Monk news laughable as he believes their manager is already at a big club.
While another supporter believes the Scottish Premiership is equivalent to League One in England.
Another said that if he did opt to join Rangers, he was done with football. Overall though, Leeds fans aren’t worried about losing their man.
