‘RIP’, ‘No party’, ‘Baffling’ – Leeds fans fume at one player selection v Bolton
By Richard Parks
Leeds United fans took to Twitter to express their dissatisfaction at the absence of Adam Forshaw from the team for their Championship clash against Bolton Wanderers at Elland Road today.
The central midfielder was a shock absentee from the Leeds starting XI announced at 2pm on their official Twitter account.
Forshaw, who was signed from Middlesbrough in the January window for a fee of £4.5million, is also not on the substitute’s bench for the team’s first league fixture in a fortnight.
Manager Paul Heckingbottom has paired Eunan O’Kane and Ronaldo Vieira in central midfield, with Kalvin Phillips and Vurnon Anita as back-up on the bench.
Forshaw has made a big impact since joining from Boro and has arguably been Leeds’ best player over the last two months.
Supporters are hugely disappointed that he is absent against relegation strugglers Bolton and are surprised after Heckingbottom made no mention of the possibility at his pre-match media conference on Wednesday.
