Leeds given major fitness boost ahead of Hull clash – confirmed

Leeds United have been given a major fitness boost by the news that striker Pierre-Michel Lasogga will return at the weekend.

The Whites host Hull on Saturday in the Championship and have a fully available Lasogga at their disposal.

Thomas Christiansen revealed that the 26-year-old is in contention for the Whites after missing the last six consecutive league games, as cited by Yorkshire Evening Post correspondent Phil Hay on his personal Twitter account.

Lasogga played a major role in the Leeds side during the early stages of the campaign, but the centre-forward has been absent due to a calf injury.

The German powerhouse will hope to force his way back into the starting XI and pick up from where he left.

He has scored five goals and supplied four assists in just 10 league matches so far this season and been a success since he switched to Elland Road in the summer.

However, he does face competition to regain his spot as the likes of Kemar Roofe and Caleb Ekuban have had opportunities to impress during his absence.

Lasogga is a more traditional number nine that is an aerial threat in forward positions and has also shown he can be clinical in the penalty area.

Christiansen needs to decide whether he prefers his more direct style to the pacy Roofe at the point of attack, who has found some form in recent weeks.
