Leeds increasingly likely to sign Wolves star as odds slashed on Elland Road deal completion

Jorgen Strand Larsen could be set to leave Wolves for Leeds United this month after the bookmakers’ odds were slashed on him moving to Elland Road.

Strand Larsen‘s future has been up in the air for months after he failed to secure a move away from Wolves in the summer, with Newcastle interested in his services.

He netted a hat-trick against Shrewsbury Town in the FA Cup on Saturday, after a tough run of form that had seen him score just three times in his 23 appearances prior.

Football Insider revealed on Wednesday that Nottingham Forest have made contact with Strand Larsen and plan to submit an offer for his services soon.

Several other Premier League sides have registered their interest in his services, but Leeds could now be poised to make a move after a surprising development in the odds for his next club.

Leeds now the second favourites to be Strand Larsen’s club after the January window

The 25-year-old netted 14 times in 38 games last term while on loan at Wolves from Celta Vigo, but has failed to replicate such form in the Premier League this season.

His potential and upside has attracted interest from numerous other clubs as Wolves flounder at the bottom of the league, with Leeds now being backed to sign him this month.

The latest odds from one of the UK’s leading bookmakers has the Whites as 2/1 to be his next club by the time the winter window ends.

He is still seemingly likely to stay at Molineux, with Wolves priced at evens to keep hold of him by 3 February ahead of Daniel Farke‘s side.

Which other clubs want to sign Strand Larsen this month?

Forest‘s interest in Strand Larsen is clear, but they may need to let one of Chris Wood or Taiwo Awoniyi depart this month to free up space in Sean Dyche’s forward line.

Everton have discussed signing Strand Larsen, while Crystal Palace have also been linked, but the 25-year-old looks unlikely to move to West Ham after they pulled out of the transfer race following two striker arrivals.

Tottenham have also registered their interest in Strand Larsen, but Wolves are set to demand around £40million for his services after he signed a new five-year deal last September.

Leeds currently have Dominic Calvert-Lewin in fine form up front, but their other striker options are lacking quality, and so the Norway international could well be tempted to Elland Road this month if they are willing to stump up a sizeable fee.
