Leeds keeping Summerville now ‘impossible’ after bids submitted – sources
Leeds United will not be able to keep hold of Crysencio Summerville over the summer window after they failed to return to the Premier League, sources have told Football Insider.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke claimed it is “impossible” for the Dutch attacker to stay at Elland Road after multiple bids were already submitted for him.
Daniel Farke’s side narrowly missed out on promotion after losing 1-0 to Southampton in the Championship play-off final last weekend.
As revealed by Football Insider, Leeds are now under pressure to recoup £150million in player sales in order to comply with financial regulations.
Summerville is one of many first-team stars who could depart Elland Road this summer with several Premier League clubs showing interest in the 22-year-old playmaker.
The Dutch midfielder was named the Championship Player of the Year after scoring 19 goals and registering nine assists for Leeds during their league campaign.
Crysencio Summerville set to leave Leeds United amid £150m news
Speaking on the Inside Track podcast, O’Rourke said: “The player most likely to leave would be Summerville.
“He has definitely shown what he can do this season – he had a great campaign and was named the Championship Player of the Year with so many goals and assists as well.
“So there’s been widespread interest in the Dutchman for quite a few years now.

“In the last couple of transfer windows, including in January, Leeds batted off a few bids for him and were able to keep him, but I think it will be almost impossible to keep him this summer.
“We know Leeds do need money coming in from player sales – they need £150million of player sales, so they’re going to be pretty susceptible to offers for all their top players.“
