Leeds make ‘surprise’ Daniel Farke sack decision – ‘Regardless of the Liverpool result…’
Leeds United have no plans to back Daniel Farke in the wake of their recent turn of form and hope he will be the one to guide them away from relegation.
That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that Farke would have been safe in his role regardless of the result against Liverpool.
Leeds drew 3-3 with Arne Slot’s side at Elland Road despite having gone 2-0 down in the game, and showed fight and desire despite previous suggestions of unrest.
Football Insider exclusively revealed that Leeds will give Farke two games to save his job, before results against Chelsea and Liverpool secured his position.
Now, the boss is believed to be secure in his position, with the club keen to back up their decision to stick by him amid speculation before the season began.

Leeds United make Daniel Farke sack decision
Brown told Football Insider on 1 December that Farke is fighting for his job at Leeds, and something would have to change to keep him in the role.
The former scout, who has a wealth of experience working closely alongside elite-level managers including Sir Alex Ferguson at Man United, insisted Farke’s tactical tweaks have given Leeds a foundation to continue their recent form.
“Daniel Farke is going to be safe in his job for now, that’s no surprise,” he told Football Insider.
“Regardless of the Liverpool result, I think they would’ve been happy for him to stay in the job.
“They have to be realistic about their chances this season, I don’t think he saved his job just because of those results, because they were always going to be tough games.
“It would’ve been unrealistic to expect any results, so taking four points from games against Chelsea, Man City and Liverpool is a fantastic outcome for Leeds.
“But the board have always been keen to stick with the manager, they made that decision in the summer when they decided to keep him on.
“This change of tactic has made them much more pragmatic and structured, that’s something I felt they had been missing this season.
“They’re not quite as disjointed as I have seen them in the past, and that’s because of these tweaks, so he deserves a lot of praise for what he’s done recently.”
Leeds plan to back Farke in January spending spree
Football Insider revealed on 7 September that Leeds are concerned about their attacking options, and could look to bolster their squad in January.
Despite putting three goals past both Chelsea and Liverpool, there are still lingering doubts about their attacking depth, particularly in wide areas.
The recent tactical changes have negated Leeds’ need for a striker, but Farke remains keen to bolster his squad out wide in the January transfer window.

Football Insider revealed in August that Farke wanted to sign four new players before the window closed, and was left disappointed by the lack of urgency.
However, with the January window rapidly approaching, there is a growing feeling they will back the manager to secure their Premier League survival.
