Leeds player ratings v Aston Villa: Powerhouse dominates in 8/10 outing

Midfielders

Ronaldo Vieira – 8: Replacing the injured Eunan O’Kane in the starting XI, Vieira was a tank in the centre of the park, dispossessing the Aston Villa midfield of possession with relative ease. His ball play was equally as impressive, demonstrating good vision and technical ability, and he controlled the game. The star performer.

Kalvin Phillips – 6: Partnering up with Vieira, their physicality ensured that the Whites dominated the middle of the park in the first half. Villa came back a little bit in the second as they utilised the flanks more, but there was often only one winner if the ball came into the centre.

Pablo Hernandez – 7: A peach of a delivery from a corner was the catalyst for Leeds to take the lead, and he looked pretty impressive from open play. Forced off with an injury just before half time, the Whites will be worried about his absence, and will no doubt be hoping it is a minor setback.
