Leeds player ratings v Brighton: Weak link 5/10

By Dominic Toner

Football Insider rates the Leeds players after their 2-0 victory against Brighton in the Championship.

Rob Green 7 – He made a sensational reaction save from his own team-mate Liam Cooper and kept up his record of playing every game in the Championship. The veteran goalkeeper also made a couple of smart stops to preserve the clean sheet.

Gaetano Berardi 6 – The hard tackling defender was switched to right-back and delivered another sound display. Made a good goal-mouth clearance and won his individual battle in the wide position.

Kyle Bartley 6 – The centre-back bossed the defence once again and kept Brighton striker Glenn Murray in control.

Liam Cooper 5 – He replaced Pontus Jansson in the side and nearly gifted Brighton the opener, when he deflected the ball goal wards and was saved by his goalkeeper. The centre-back is a good squad option for Garry Monk, but was also wasteful in possession and should be dropped in the next game.

Charlie Taylor 7 – Looked assured on his return to the side and is getting up to full speed. He provided the assist for Wood’s opening goal and reminded people of his attacking qualities.

Liam Bridcutt 6 – The defensive midfielder was solid in front of the back line, but tried to play too many long passes.

Ronaldo Vieira 7 – The young midfielder continues to impress and is an all rounder. He battled well and won the ball back on numerous occasions, while also being comfortable in possession.

Hadi Sacko 6 – The pacy winger managed to get into some good positions and looked lively, but his final ball was lacking.

Pablo Hernandez 6 – The playmaker clearly has the ability, but failed to really impact the match consistently enough.

Alfonso Pedraza 6 – The Spanish attacker is beginning to settle at Elland Road and showed his ability to beat a man.

Chris Wood 8 – He missed the best chance of the first half and he was unable to adjust his feet in time from a corner. However, the prolific forward scored twice in the second period with a header and a penalty.

Souleymane Doukara (for Pedraza 75mins) 6

Stuart Dallas (for Sacko 81mins) 6

Eunan O’Kane (for Hernandez 89mins) 6
