
Leeds player ratings in win v Burton: Star trio lack quality with 5/10 displays
Goalkeeper and defenders
Felix Wiedwald – 6: Was more vocal in commanding his defence than fans may have previously seen. He perhaps could have leaped out of his goal to deny the low cross which led to the opening goal but other than that was rarely tested. Pulled off a good, if unconventional, last minute save to secure the win.
Luke Ayling – 6: Managed the right flank well and helped contain the Burton attack, unlike his counterpart on the left.
Liam Cooper – 6: A solid if unspectacular display at the heart of the defence, he could have probably done more to prevent the home side’s opening goal. Was also lucky to see just a yellow card after a two footed challenge which saw him win the ball but catch the opposing player, the referee lenient with his punishment.
Pontus Jansson – 6: Not the same assured performance which fans have become accustomed to recently, he was more brawn than brains at the Pirelli Stadium. His clearing headers went upwards more than they did outwards, but thankfully his physical presence was enough to dominate the Burton attack.
Gaetano Beradi – 5: Not an impressive display, highlighting why a left back may be a priority come January. Was beaten by the Burton attackers time and again, and the opening goal for the home side came as a result of a cross from his flank.
