Leeds player ratings v QPR: Senior ace gets 8/10 on landmark appearance
By Will Butcher
Football Insider rates the Leeds players out of 10 after their 0-0 draw against QPR at Elland Road on Saturday afternoon.
Rob Green 8 – Leeds’ undisputed number one goalkeeper starred on his 600th league appearance, most notably coming out on top in a one-on-one situation against Conor Washington in the first half.
Luke Ayling 5 – Got forward well but was rash in a tackle against Jake Bidwell that saw him receive his tenth yellow card of the season and a two-match ban. Big loss.
Kyle Bartley 6 – Steady at the back but lost a number of aerial battles against former Leeds target man Matt Smith.
Pontus Jansson 6 – Looked classy at the back without being troubled. However, missed a good chance from a corner that could have opened the deadlock for Leeds.
Gaetano Berardi 6 – Number of important clearances, but offered little going forward. Likely to keep his place after Ayling failed to avoid a two-match ban.
Ronaldo Vieira 6 – Despite his tender age of 18, midfielder Vieira proved his value to Leeds once again with a combative display in the middle of the park. Struggled to win the midfield battle, though.
Liam Bridcutt – 6 Similarly to Vieira, Captain Bridcutt failed to gain control of the midfield with Leeds attacking threat coming from out wide.
Kemar Roofe 6 – Good effort throughout the match, looked like he had something to prove. But Hadi Sacko proved more effective after replacing Roofe just before the hour mark.
Pablo Hernandez 5 – Other than providing a dangerous supply from set-pieces, Hernandez did very little throughout the match.
Alfonso Pedraza 7 – Showed a number of wonderful touches and provided a threat from out wide. Unlucky not to find the net with a stinging shot that flashed across the face of goal in the first half.
Chris Wood 5 – Largely ineffective as Leeds struggled to provide the Championship’s top scorer with any ammunition to find the back of the net.
Subs:
Hadi Sacko (replaces Roofe, 59 mins) 7
Souleymane Doukara (replaces Pedraza, 73 mins) 6
Eunan O’Kane (replaces Vieira, 79 mins) 6
