Leeds player ratings v Rotherham: Defender stars
By Dominic Toner
Football Insider rates the Leeds players after their 2-1 away victory against Rotherham in Saturday’s Championship match.
Rob Green 6 – Looked composed in possession and showed good distribution, but was left helpless for the Rotherham goal.
Luke Ayling 6 – Another assured performance in defence but could have pushed on to support the winger.
Kyle Bartley 6 – Composed performance but lost Rotherham striker Danny Ward for their late goal.
Liam Cooper 6 – Stood in well for the suspended Pontus Jansson and was strong in his aerial battles.
Charlie Taylor 8 – The defender had the better of Rotherham full-back Stephen Kelly all evening and showed his attacking qualities. Assisted Chris Wood’s goal after dribbling into the box.
Kalvin Phillips 6 – Could have been smarter with his passes in the final third, but once again showed consistency from set-pieces.
Eunan O’Kane 6 – Spent a lot of the game in possession and was wasteful on several occasions.
Hadi Sacko 6 – Attempted several good looking dribbles but could have exploited playing against 10 men much better.
Kemar Roofe 7 – More comfortable in a number 10 position and assisted Souleymane Doukara after a smart turn.
Souleymane Doukara 7 – Took his goal well with a left footed shot into the bottom corner and showed his great pace during the game.
Chris Wood 7 – Was fairly quiet in the game but opened the scoring in the first-half with a calm finish, the sign of a great striker.
Stuart Dallas (for Souleymane Doukara 63mins) 6
Marcus Antonsson (for Kemar Roofe 73mins) 5
Gaetano Berardi (for Hadi Sacko 90+1mins) 5
