Leeds tipped to complete three ‘brilliant’ signings that will ‘change everything’ after inside source’s reveal today

Paddy Kenny claims Leeds United need at least two new players to add depth to their squad in January.

That’s according to former Whites stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about where his former side need to improve.

On Saturday (18 December) Football Insider revealed Leeds have ripped up their original January transfer plan due to the injury crisis engulfing the club.

Director of football Victor Orta is now looking to recruit two new midfielders rather than one after losing star man Kalvin Phillips for a lengthy period of time.

A Leeds source has told Football Insider that Orta is scouring the market for number six defensive midfielder as well as an attacking number eight midfielder.

Kenny claims Tuesday’s 7-0 loss to Manchester City may have forced Leeds’ hand in the transfer market.

“I think Leeds needed players before getting beat 7-0,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“But results like that always spark something. I have said so many times now, they need to invest.

“They have had some bad injuries so it only makes sense they go out and strengthen.

“The key thing for me is getting more depth. I just don’t see many options there.

“A couple of brilliant signings could change everything.

“This season isn’t going as well as last year and I genuinely believe one or two quality signings could just freshen things up again.

“You see it all the time in football, don’t you? Let’s see what happens in January.

“I would be really surprised if we didn’t see two or three players arrive at Elland Road.”
