Leeds to accept Sam Greenwood offer after ‘£1.5m’ reveal – sources

Sam Greenwood is set to be sold by Leeds United in the summer transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.

The 22-year-old is unlikely to be reintegrated at Elland Road despite his good form out on loan with Middlesbrough.

Greenwood is one of several Leeds stars out on loan in the 2023-24 campaign following the club’s relegation from the Premier League last summer (2023).

Luis Sinisterra and Robin Koch have already secured permanent moves away from Yorkshire after leaving on loan in last year’s summer window.

The likes of Brenden Aaronson, Rasmus Kristensen, Marc Roca, Max Wober and Jack Harrison could all join them in finding new homes elsewhere.

Greenwood set to be sold by Leeds – Middlesbrough have ‘£1.5m’ option

It was reported in October 2023 that Middlesbrough have a £1.5million option to sign Greenwood permanently this summer.

He has made 33 total appearances for Boro during his time at the club, notching five goals and three assists.

The England Under-21 international has primarily played as a left winger at the Riverside Stadium.

Leeds sit second in the Championship and have taken a big step towards a Premier League return with their stellar form in recent weeks.

Leeds United, Sam Greenwood

Greenwood turned out 25 times in the top flight for the Whites, but it is believed he is unlikely to rejoin Daniel Farke’s squad regardless of potential promotion.

Sources say the German boss is keen to bring in new faces and stay loyal to his current group of players in the 2024-25 campaign.
