Leeds to let Sebastiaan Bornauw go as new defender signings lined up

Leeds United will not stand in the way of centre-back Sebastiaan Bornauw if he wants to leave this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

The 27-year-old has made just four starts in the Premier League this season, and the Whites are prepared to show him the door if he wants to move in search of more regular football.

The Elland Road outfit are keen to avoid leaving themselves short at the back next term, but sources say that Bornauw is set to be forced even further down the pecking order, with the club already eyeing up new centre-back additions.

Daniel Farke will continue with the back three formation that has served his team well next term, but Bornauw will effectively be allowed to decide his own future.

Leeds’ transfer plans are set to see them build on their current group ahead of next season, and there is little sign of any fringe players getting a bigger opportunity in 2026-27.

Which centre-backs have Leeds got on their radar?

Football Insider revealed last week that Ladislav Krejci would welcome a move to Leeds, amid strong interest from the West Yorkshire side.

The Czech international has spent the season on loan at Wolves from Spanish side Girona, but could yet join the Black Country outfit permanently this summer.

Farke and Co. have already identified him as a player who would be a good fit for their 3-5-2 system, especially considering he would provide another left-sided option in the backline.

Leeds have also been heavily linked with a move for Union Berlin centre-back Danilho Doekhi, as he is increasingly likely to leave the German capital club as a free agent this summer.

The Dutchman has interest from Saudi Arabia on the table, while Borussia Dortmund are also understood to be strong admirers of the 27-year-old.

Both of those deals could provide the trigger for Bornauw to depart Elland Road in the coming weeks, with FC Koln still keen on the idea of taking him back to Germany.

Whites ready to cash in on Largie Ramazani

Football Insider revealed last weekend that Leeds are ready to cash in on winger Largie Ramazani this summer, after a productive loan spell in La Liga with Valencia.

The Whites have no long-term plans for the wideman when he returns to Elland Road at the end of the campaign, and are understood to be holding out for around £10million to let him leave permanently.

Sources have indicated that the figure is likely to be beyond Valencia ahead of next season, but there are several other clubs that are keeping tabs on Ramazani after a loan spell that has brought six goals in 23 games.

The Belgian seemingly has no way back into Farke’s plans despite a productive season, and as a result, he appears set to be shown the door for good ahead of next term.
