Leeds told to accept £30m Illan Meslier offer after source’s reveal – pundit
Illan Meslier has been linked with a £30million move away from Leeds United in the summer transfer window.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former West Ham striker Frank McAvennie has claimed that the Yorkshire giants should look to cash in on the French goalkeeper.
Football Insider exclusively revealed on Sunday (25 June) that Leeds United are willing to listen to offers for the goalkeeper and the club have informed the 23-year-old that he is free to leave Elland Road this summer if a bid arrives and meets the club’s valuation.
Leeds had previously hoped to secure a £40million-plus fee for Meslier, but his poor form in the final months of the 2022/23 season means that a bid of £30million could now seal a deal.
Meslier was a first-team regular for United last season, making 38 appearances across all competitions and keeping five clean sheets.
With a potential exit on the cards, McAvennie believes that the club’s relegation from the Premier League last season means that they will need to sell Meslier.
“If Meslier pushes for a move it will be benefit Leeds,” He told Football insider.
“With Leeds going down there’s a chance his wages have been cut short, and this could see him pushing to get away.

“I look at Leeds and Leicester, the two clubs who were both relegated, and Leicester are already in a better position to get promoted straight away.
“Leicester are already signing players, but Leeds have not being able to do this.”
