Sources: Leeds United star Mateusz Bogusz agrees to re-join UD Ibiza

Leeds United playmaker Mateusz Bogusz has agreed to re-join Spanish club UD Ibiza, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.

The Poland Under-21 international is headed back to the second-tier club for a second loan move and is set to undergo a medical.

Leeds have given the green light for Bogusz, 20, to join on a season-long loan after his first loan spell was terminated in January due to a serious knee injury.

The Poland Under-21 international is working his way back to fitness and the Premier League club are happy for him to continue his recovery with regular first-team football at Ibiza.

Bogusz has one more year remaining on his Leeds contract after signing an extension in December 2020.

He has spent three years on the United books but has made only three first-team appearances for the club.

Bogusz spent the 2020-21 season on loan at Spanish second-tier club UD Logrones and had his first regular starting role at senior level.

He made 27 appearances in all competitions, including 23 in the league made up of nine starts.

That led to plenty of interest last summer from EFL clubs in the attacking midfielder, who is versatile enough to play in more defensive roles as well.

English trio Portsmouth, Swindon Town and Gillingham made moves for him before he joined UD Ibiza for the first time.

United believe it would be best for him to spend a third campaign in Spain before he plays in the physically demanding Football League.

Bogusz has made just three appearances for Leeds since joining in January 2019 from Polish outfit Ruch Chorzow.
