Leeds United board hailed ‘phenomenal’ after what expert has ‘heard’ from senior stars
Alex McLeish has insisted the Leeds United board deserve “amazing credit” for the way they brought Jesse Marsch to Elland Road.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Scotland boss insisted the Whites’ chiefs were “phenomenal” in how they gave Marcelo Bielsa time before pulling the trigger.
Marsch, 48, has taken 10 points from a possible 18 to boost Leeds’ hopes of avoiding relegation this season.

He joined the Yorkshire giants with the club sitting in 18th and on a six-game losing streak.
McLeish admitted Marsch has “transformed” Leeds and insisted he was hearing good things from the players during their media commitments.
He lauded the Elland Road board for their professionalism during the transition.
Asked how much credit the board deserve for making the difficult decision to replace Bielsa with Marsch, McLeish told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “The world was gobsmacked because of the respect people have for Bielsa.
“Leeds have acted the way a lot of teams have acted when the results have not been great. But they didn’t do it after five games or so. They waited, they gave time, they gave the manager a really great opportunity.
“They deserve amazing credit. Their board has been phenomenal in the way that they’ve handled the whole thing.
“Jesse Marsch, I’ve seen him and I’ve met him before. I did a course with the national team at Hampden and Jesse was doing one of his licences.

“You’ve got to give him a lot of credit for coming in transforming the team. I’ve heard the players talking, they are very positive. Well done. It’s terrific to see a young coach come in and do that.”
The likes of Rodrigo, speaking to BBC West Yorkshire Sport, have praised Marsch for his impact since joining.
