Medical expert: Bielsa not telling the full story ‘again’ after Bamford update from Leeds
Marcelo Bielsa is being “very selective in what he chooses to divulge” with regards to Patrick Bamford’s latest setback at Leeds United.
That is the view of injury expert Ben Dinnery, who runs the Premier Injuries site and has a background in medicine and data analysis.
Bamford has lurched from one injury to the next in 2021-22, with ankle, hamstring and hip issues seeing him play just 20 minutes since September.

The 28-year-old hitman has recovered from his latest hip complaint but has now suffered another blow in his road to full fitness.
“He has overcome his muscular issues, but now he has an issue at the bottom of his foot,” Bielsa told Sky Sports last Thursday (20 January).
Dinnery suggests that there may be more to Bamford’s foot injury than the experienced campaigner is letting on.
“Marcelo Bielsa, again, is very selective in what he chooses to divulge,” he told Football Insider‘s Adam Williams.
“The bottom of the foot covers a variety of potential ailments. Possibly, it could be an overuse issue.
“People will question how it can be overuse because he’s not been playing, but the work has still been going on in training.
“If that is the case in the bottom of the foot towards the heel and that plantar area, that would need to be managed.
“It is an injury that responds well to rest. Rodrigo and Shackleton have also been sidelined in recent times with overuse injuries.
“They are a hindrance and painful, and players have to ease back into heavier loads with them.
“If we are talking more of an impact injury, I’m at a loss to understand what it could be.
“You would hope that he is back sooner rather than later because they are massively missing someone who can put it in the back of the net.”

Leeds currently have eight first-team stars out through injury.
They are 15th in the league table after 21 matches.
