Leeds United could land new bonus as deal announced – Keith Wyness
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has insisted Leeds United’s new Adidas deal will contain a “Premier League bonus” in the event of their promotion.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – hinted the Whites will “benefit greatly” from potentially returning to the top flight this term.
Leeds confirmed on 30 October that they have now agreed an extension to their partnership with German manufacturer Adidas.
The Whites agreed an initial five-year deal with Adidas ahead of their first season back in the Premier League in 2020 – but have since been relegated.
Wyness previously told Football Insider (7 November) that the new deal will be worth less than the £10million per annum agreed four years ago.
Leeds will have to settle for ‘cut-price’ Adidas deal unless promoted, says Wyness
The ex-Everton CEO claimed Leeds may have wrapped up a “group deal” with Adidas due to their affiliation with Red Bull.
He told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “There’ll be Premier League bonuses in this deal.
“There may also be some connection with the 49ers, or with Red Bull. There may be a more complicated group deal we’re not aware of.

“But certainly if Leeds are promoted there will be no cut-price deal.
“There will be a bonus in this deal which will allow them to benefit greatly from being a Premier League club again.”
