Leeds United employee: Forwards will be licking their lips after what I’ve heard from Rasmus Kristensen

Noel Whelan has insisted the Leeds United attackers will be licking their lips at the prospect of playing with Rasmus Kristensen next season.

The former Leeds striker and club ambassador, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the 24-year-old will help anyone playing on the right-hand flank enhance their game.

Speaking to LUTV after completing his move (8 June), Kristensen described himself as a “physical, emotional power player” with a “big engine” to run up and down the flank.

Luke Ayling was Leeds’ first-choice right-back during the 2021/22 campaign.

Whelan insisted wingers will love the “power” and athleticism Kristensen brings down the right-hand side.

“He looks a really exciting player,” Whelan told Football Insider’s Russell Edge.

“Good age, very strong, loves to go forward and it looks like he’s got an eye for a goal as well with that creativity.

“That matches everything of the style of play I think Jesse Marsh wants from this Leeds United side going into next season.

“I’ve seen clips of him, he looks very powerful going forward, very athletic. A good size to him as well which I think’s important in the Premier League, not just for going forward but defensively.

“You want to have that powerhouse at the back as well. Someone that loves to be in that physical battle and one-v-ones. He’s definitely ticking the boxes there.

“Anybody that’s going to be playing on that right-hand side with him will benefit from the energy that he’s going to give you.”
