Leeds United employee shares Jack Harrison claim as ‘unbelievable’ new details emerge

Noel Whelan has hailed Jack Harrison’s “unbelievable” start to the season for Leeds United.

The former Whites striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the 25-year-old’s form has benefitted from the signing of competition in Brenden Aaronson and Luis Sinisterra.

As per Fotmob, Harrison leads the league for chances created after two games with 11 – ahead of Mohamed Salah and Kevin de Bruyne (both eight).

The former Man City ace has laid on goals for Premier League top goalscorer Rodrigo during games against Southampton and Wolves this month.

Harrison, who has two years left to run on his Elland Road contract, notched 10 goals and two assists last term as Leeds United narrowly avoided relegation.

Big-money additions Aaronson and Sinisterra have been brought into the club following the high-profile departures of Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips.

Whelan also highlighted Harrison’s work off the ball for Leeds United so far this term.

He told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury: “Jack is one of these players we have high expectations for – and he has them for himself, too.

“When his form dips, everyone sees it. It stands out because he’s a positive attacking presence. We expect him to be getting down the wing, creating chances, scoring goals, taking players on.

“He’s started this season in an unbelievable way. Not just on the ball. But showing Jesse Marsch exactly what he wants to see off the ball as well – that work rate, that tenacity.

“He’s adapted to a more central, narrow role. It just goes to show that it doesn’t matter what system you play – Jack Harrison is effective.

“The new competition will have forced him to up his game – and we’ve got lots of competition now.”
