Leeds United employee shares major Thorp Arch claim after what he’s heard

The Leeds United squad have fully bought into Jesse Marsch’s Thorp Arch methods, according to Noel Whelan.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Whites striker and club ambassador claimed the side’s recent form proves that Marsch’s methods are working.

Leeds are unbeaten in their last four games and have pulled themselves away from the relegation battle.

Marsch, 48, told talkSPORT last week (12 April) that he has a specific methodology that the players have begun to adapt to.

“He’s clearly well educated and been at a good club over in Germany,” Whelan told Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge.

“Everyone just hears the American accent and doesn’t understand he’s put the work in, he’s put the hours in so he’s got the experience to know exactly what he’s doing and what the players need.

“He’s now proved it. He’s come in off the back of a very good manager in there.

“The way he’s come in so quickly and put the points on the board and turned it around so quickly shows he knows exactly what he’s doing.

“He’s a good man and a good manager which is exactly what these players needed right now. They’ve been buying into everything he’s been putting on in the training ground.

“It will be hard work and the Marcelo Bielsa era has put them in good stead for Jesse Marsch.”

Leeds have had the weekend off and are next in action when they travel to Crystal Palace next Monday (25 April).

After that, they have consecutive games against Man City, Arsenal and Chelsea.
