Leeds United employee thrilled with Tyler Adams after chart-topping reveal
Noel Whelan has insisted Tyler Adams “epitomises what Leeds United are about” after another all-action display against Crystal Palace on Sunday (9 October).
The former Whites striker and club ambassador, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the 23-year-old is the “standout” performer when Jesse Marsch’s side are “at it”.
Adams impressed against Palace, particularly in the first half, but couldn’t prevent his side from surrendering a 1-0 lead to lose 2-1 at Selhurst Park.
As per Sofascore, the US international recorded a match-highest four tackles and nine duels won during the clash.
He also made the most passes of any Leeds United player and created three chances for the Whites attack.
Marsch’s side now sit 14th in the Premier League ahead of games against Arsenal and Leicester over the next week.
Whelan highlighted midfield signings Adams, Brenden Aaronson, and Marc Roca as players who have settled “so well” since arriving at Elland Road during the off-season.
He told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “The first 45 minutes against Palace were what Leeds United are all about.
“Tyler Adams epitomised that with his hard work, his graft.
“He was getting into good areas, getting forward and between the lines, receiving the ball under pressure.
“He’s one player who stands out when the whole team is at it, and he’s going to be so important to us.

“The three midfield players [Adams, Aaronson, Roca] have settled so well and that’s probably the area of the side in which we are most comfortable right now.
“At the minute, you’ve got to be really happy with how Adams is playing.”
