Leeds United expert issues ‘huge’ Jesse Marsch claim after ‘amazing’ thing he’s seen

Jesse Marsch’s high-intensity style of management is “huge” for Leeds United.

That’s according to ex-Whites stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about his former side’s start to the season.

Leeds sit third in the Premier League after winning two and drawing one of their opening three games.

Marsch’s side beat Chelsea 3-0 on Sunday (21 August) as Leeds looked much the better side up against one of the traditional ‘big six’.

Kenny insists this is all down to Marsch.

“Leeds have had an amazing start to the season,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“With the goals against Chelsea at the weekend, you can say they were mistakes [from Chelsea] but can you not put it down to Leeds’ high intensity?

“The first goal is a massive error from the goalkeeper but the pressure in the middle of the pitch forced them back and the pressure kept coming.

“It’s not just about the goalkeeper making a mistake and that is what Marsch has brought to Leeds. That’s a huge thing, the old Bielsa, high-intensity, putting pressure on, it’s great to see.

“You have to put the Chelsea win down to Leeds being really good as well as Chelsea being poor.

“They are working so well as a team and as a unit.”

Leeds are next in Premier League action against Brighton on Saturday (27 August).

They then welcome Everton to Elland Road on Tuesday (30 August) during the first midweek fixtures of the season.
