Leeds United expert shares ‘really exciting’ Wilfried Gnonto claim
The signing of former FC Zurich striker Wilfried Gnonto is “exciting” for Leeds United.
That’s according to ex-Whites stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about his former side’s attempts to bolster their striker options in the final weeks of the transfer window.
Gnonto signed for Leeds United on transfer deadline day (1 September).

Sources told Football Insider on 2 September FC Zurich wanted £7million for the Italian forward, 18, before eventually buckling and agreeing a £4million deal.
Patrick Bamford, whose 2021-22 season was heavily hampered by injury, has already picked up a knock this term, ruling him out of two Premier League games.
This was a major concern for Kenny ahead of the summer window and while he is excited to see Gnonto play, he expected someone with more experience to arrive at Elland Road.
“I was hoping someone more established would come in, to be honest,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“This guy looks like a reallyexciting prospect but he has barely played, he is still such a young lad. He isn’t the finished article.
“I was maybe expecting someone to come in who could directly challenge Bamford, maybe this guy can. I don’t know much about him but he has done quite a lot for someone of his age.
“He’s one to keep an eye on.”

Leeds United sit ninth in the Premier League table after six games.
Gnonto joins fellow youngsters Sam Greenwood, Crysensio Summerville, and Joe Gelhardt in the Whites’ attack.
