Leeds United fans tear into two regular starters as new stats emerge

Leeds United fans have slammed Brenden Aaronson for his role in their stalemate against Burnley on Monday (27 January) – and suggested his attacking ally Joel Piroe is also “not good enough”.

The two teams battled out a goalless draw at Turf Moor which left the Yorkshire giants top of the league with their three-point gap over Burnley remaining in place.

The fixture was expected to be a tight one between the two best defensive teams in the Championship, with Daniel Farke’s team being unable to unlock their opponents.

Aaronson received heavy criticism from fans for his individual performance in a game in which he made just 42 attacking touches.

The United States international only created one chance throughout the game and failed to make a single tackle.

Aaronson also only managed to be successful with 20 percent of his dribbles as he struggled to find the answers for Leeds to cause any real threat to Scott Parker’s team.

Leeds United fans want Brenden Aaronson to be benched

The 24-year-old has scored seven goals and provided two assists in 29 appearances this season in the Championship for the Whites.

Aaronson hasn’t made a goal contribution since Leeds’ 1-0 win against Derby on 29 December, and his performance against Burnley was one that supporters didn’t appreciate.

Fans claimed they’re “finished with Aaronson now” with others claiming the club needs to “sign a 10” as they don’t believe the American is good enough to do the role.
