Kieran Maguire: ‘Obsessed’ fans will ‘devour’ new Leeds United announcement
The new Leeds United academy documentary is bound to be a success as their “obsessed” supporters will “devour” any content centred on their club.
That is the view of finance guru Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Whites’ latest commercial deal.
Leeds have teamed up with Amazon Prime to release Academy Dreams: Leeds United, a fly-on-the-wall documentary covering the club’s rising stars in the 2021-22 campaign.

Last term was a breakthrough campaign for the likes of Joe Gelhardt Sam Greenwood, and Crysencio Summerville.
The six-part series represents the West Yorkshire side’s second collaboration with Amazon after 2019’s award-winning Take Us Home: Leeds United.
As relayed by Leeds Live last Tuesday (16 August), CEO Angus Kinnear has announced that the documentary will premiere next month.
Maguire insists that the documentary is a win-win for the club, the fans, and the producers.
“Amazon did one of these documentaries with Crystal Palace that focused on the youth team,” he told Football Insider’s Adam Williams.
“That proved to be very successful. From a production point of view, they are relatively low cost. From the club’s point of view, it increases its profile.
“It is also a way of highlighting the links between the club and city because many of the academy kids are local.

“From a fan’s point of view, they will devour anything they can find that covers their club. They are obsessed.
“Again, this enhances the bond between fans, city and players.”
