Leeds United handed ‘huge’ dressing room boost as ‘unreal’ off-pitch footage emerges – pundit

Alan Hutton has insisted Joe Gelhardt’s last-minute winner over Norwich City will give the Leeds United dressing room a “huge” boost.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Scotland defender claimed the Whites’ squad will be full of confidence for their upcoming games after the “unreal” scenes at Elland Road.

Leeds posted footage of the celebrations in the dugout and the stands from Sunday to their official Twitter account on Monday evening (14 February).

Hutton admitted he was blown away by the scenes at Elland Road.

He insisted it would give the players a real shot in the arm for their upcoming games.

Reacting to the footage of the celebrations at Elland Road, Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “That is unreal. It was huge, especially when you think that Norwich drew level and it was a last-minute winner.

“The energy that comes from that, knowing it came last minute, you’re all up and at it now, you’re looking forward to the next game. Huge, huge games coming up for them.

“It was a massive three points, wasn’t it? It was probably a game that they looked at and thought: ‘Norwich, bottom of the table, we’re at home, we need to turn things around.’

“They’ve got a run of fixtures now – Wolves, Southampton, Watford – where if they can pick up points, get a little bit of momentum from the Norwich game they can get out that relegation dogfight. There’s an opportunity for them.”

Leeds face Wolves at Molineux on Friday night (18 March).

The Whites currently sit 16th in the Premier League table, four points off the drop zone.

However, both Burnley and Everton have games in hand over the Yorkshire giants.
