Sources: Leeds United offering Jack Harrison ‘huge’ pay hike to stay as double-your-money deal on the cards

Leeds United are ready to offer Jack Harrison a double-your-money new contract, sources have told Football Insider.

The wide forward’s long-term Elland Road future is in doubt with his current agreement expiring in the summer of 2024.

A well-placed source has revealed Leeds are set to open new contract talks with Harrison, 25, and will offer a “huge” pay hike to tie him down.

It could see his wages double to in excess of £80,000-a-week.

Harrison is not believed to be anywhere near the bracket of top earners at Leeds. They are led by Rodrigo Moreno, whose deal is worth more than £100,000-a-week.

The Yorkshire giants recognise the importance of securing Harrison long term at a time when he is attracting interest from rival Premier League clubs.

The Whites will struggle to keep the former Man City star if he enters the final 12 months of his contract at the end of the season.

Newcastle United were keen to sign Harrison, 25, during the summer and reportedly had £20million-plus bid rejected by Leeds.

Harrison has started all eight of their Premier league matches this term, scoring once and supplying three assists.

As per Fotmob, the Leeds star ranks fourth for chances created in the Premier League – with his tally of 19 behind only Kevin de Bruyne (30), Mohamed Salah (26) and Gabriel Martinelli (20).

Harrison was tipped for inclusion in the England squad after his early-season form but Gareth Southgate declined to give him his maiden call-up.
