Leeds United hit by ‘big blow’ after Adam Forshaw injury update: ‘It sounds really bad’ – Mills

Danny Mills has admitted losing Adam Forshaw to injury is a “big blow” for Leeds United heading into the final games of the season.

However, the former Leeds defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the midfielder should recover “in due course”.

Jesse Marsch told the press on Friday (22 April) that Forshaw has suffered a fractured knee cap and will be out for six weeks, thus ending his season.

Leeds have six games left to play this term as they look to avoid the drop.

Mills admitted Forshaw would be sorely missed by Marsch and his teammates.

“It’ll be a big blow but this is often the case,” Whelan told Football Insider’s Connor Whitley.

“He’s got to hope it’s not too bad. I know it sounds really bad saying end of the season but it’s six weeks.

“It’s a month really, it’s four weeks. It’s not that bad. If that was four weeks in the middle of the season, you’d go: ‘Ah, it’s not that bad.’

“But when it’s your season over, it sounds a little bit more dramatic. For his sake, I hope it’s nothing too serious, it’s precautionary and he’ll be fine in due course.”

Forshaw has been a mainstay for Leeds this season after recovering from a lengthy hip issue.
