Leeds United hit by dressing room blow – Whelan
Noel Whelan has admitted Leeds United have been dealt a double-edged sword by the two-week break in fixtures.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Leeds striker and club ambassador insisted while the break would be good for fitness, the players would be disappointed not to keep up the momentum in their fight for survival.
The Whites beat Watford 3-0 in their last outing but must wait over a fortnight before their trip to Crystal Palace.

Chelsea’s progression to the semi-finals of the FA Cup means their clash with Leeds, scheduled for this weekend, has been postponed.
Whelan insisted the break would be welcomed on a fitness front.
However, he admitted the players would be wanting to carry on from where they left off against Watford.
Asked if there would be some disappointment in the dressing room at the gap between games, Whelan told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “Yeah, I think there will be.
“I think as a player, you look at it as two sides of the coin. When you’re on a run like that you want to keep that momentum going. You want to play every day, pretty much, because you’re in that confident mood.
“But at the same time, you understand the demands of the game. Some people are just coming back from injuries, you kind of need that little bit of a break.
“Sometimes it’s not a bad thing to take a back seat and see what other teams do this weekend.
“One thing that has happened is that feel-good factor around the training ground at Thorp Arch and Elland Road. It’s a little bit more sigh of relief.

“The players are buying into everything Jesse Marsch is asking from them. Everyone’s rising to the occasion under the new manager and trying to impress.
“More importantly, getting the points on the table and putting more pressure on the sides below us.”
