Sources: Leeds in Timo Hubers transfer mission as release clause revealed
Leeds United sent scouts to watch Timo Hubers play for FC Koln in the Bundesliga on Saturday, Football Insider understands.
The Yorkshire giants are in the market for a new centre-back this summer and are monitoring the 25-year-old.
A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Leeds are stepping up their interest in Hubers with regular checks.

The 6ft 3in defender played the full 90 minutes of Koln’s 3-1 win over Bielefeld at home on Saturday.
Leeds face strong competition from Premier League rivals for the signature of Hubers, who has a £6.7million release clause in his contract.
Koln are facing financial difficulties post-pandemic but are holding out for the full release clause in his contract.
Hubers is under contract at the Müngersdorfer Stadion until 2023 having signed from Hannover only last July.
He has scored one goal across his 20 appearances this season.
The defender came through the ranks at Hannover before switching to Koln as an 18-year-old in 2016.
Hubers rejoined Hannover just one year later, however, scoring four goals and supplying three assists across 39 appearances in a five-season spell.
He has been a key figure since he again re-signed for Koln last July, with Steffen Baumgart’s now in 7th place and in the hunt for European football.
Only bottom-place Norwich City have shipped more goals than Leeds this season meanwhile.
Their fortunes at the back improved somewhat after Jesse Marsch replaced Marcelo Bielsa in the dugout at the beginning of March.

But the American boss will be looking for further stability in defence ahead of what looks increasingly likely to be a third straight top-flight season.
Leeds, who are in action at Crystal Palace tomorrow (25 April), are five points clear of the relegation zone with six games to play.
