Leeds United may still sack Marsch after what pundit has spotted – ‘this is big’
Jesse Marsch is still at risk of losing his job at Leeds United despite masterminding a win over Liverpool.
That’s according to former Hibernian striker Tam McManus, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the American’s future.
On Tuesday (25 October), sources told this site that the Whites are putting out feelers as they lay the groundwork for appointing a new manager.
That was before the Whites pulled off a remarkable 2-1 win at Anfield on Saturday (29 October).
Ahead of that game, Leeds were winless in eight Premier League games and had lost four in a row after losing 3-2 to Fulham on the previous Sunday (23 October).
Despite the win, McManus suspects Marsch could still lose his job during the break for the World Cup.
“The World Cup comes at a great time for any club that wants to change their manager and I think we will see that at a few clubs,” McManus told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild.
“They will be looking. Marsch will want to get to that World Cup break with a few wins under his belt. They have some tough games, I believe they play Tottenham and Man City before that break so we will see where they are.
“A couple of losses and if they fall into the relegation zone then that result against Liverpool might not save him. They have not won enough this season and that’s the bottom line.
“I saw that the fans had turned on him a few weeks ago, that’s always big for a manager’s future. So we have to see but fans’ minds can change, we have seen it before.
“It’s all up to Marsch not but he has a few big weeks ahead.”

Leeds welcome Bournemouth to Elland Road on Saturday (5 November).
They currently sit 15th in the Premier League.
