Kenny: Leeds signing James ‘must change’ after ‘brutal’ confession
Dan James played it too safe during his time at Man United – that has “got to change” if he is to be a success at Leeds United.
So says ex-Premier League goalkeeper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about recent comments made by the 23-year-old winger.
Speaking to The Telegraph on 7 September, James confessed that he was guilty of “playing a little safe” during his time at Old Trafford.

James hit the back of the net nine times and supplied nine assists in 74 appearances after he joined the Red Devils in June 2019.
The Wales international, who signed for Leeds for £25million on deadline day, could make his debut against Liverpool on Sunday.
But Kenny insists that the lightning-quick wide man must take more risks if he is to fulfil his potential at Elland Road.
“That’s got to change, but it’s good he’s being brutally honest” he told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams.
“Bielsa will have told him exactly how he wants him to play. Don’t be afraid to go at people.
“If you lose it, you lose it. I think that’s how they are at Leeds, with that positive mindset.
“They are like that from top to bottom there. From what he’s said, it sounds like that’s what he’s going to do.”

James featured twice for Man United in 2021-22 before he completed his move to West Yorkshire.
Kristoffer Klaesson and Junior Firpo also signed for Leeds over the summer, while Jack Harrisons’ loan was converted into a permanent deal.
