Leeds United news: Mills issues ‘absolutely massive’ claim after Jesse Marsch reveal in last 48 hours

Danny Mills has hailed the “great character” Leeds United have shown in their last two last-gasp wins over Norwich City and Wolves.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Whites and England defender claimed the 3-2 victory over Wolves on Friday night (18 March) was “absolutely massive”.

Leeds were 2-0 down at half-time but Raul Jimenez’s red card allowed them back into the game and Luke Ayling completed the comeback with a 91st-minute winner.

The week before (13 March) Joe Gelhardt secured the three points against Norwich with a goal in the 94th minute.

As quoted by Leeds Live on Friday, Jesse Marsch insisted the players deserve all the credit for the result at Molineux and it typifies what the club is about.

“It was a huge result against Wolves, absolutely massive,” Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“They needed that, especially after going 2-0 down. You were thinking, is this going to be another hammering?

“The sending off was absolutely vital in that. Up to that point Leeds had issues with injuries, that is never easy to deal with when you’ve made a plan.

“It was great character to come back and now you think they only need a couple more wins to be safe. It’s still going to be very close.

“It’s tight down the bottom and it will be that way for some time. It won’t be easy for anybody.

“Brentford lost today and that has dragged them back into it.”
