Leeds United news: Mills issues one-word verdict on Marcelo Bielsa quitting now after what he’s heard
Danny Mills has insisted Marcelo Bielsa will remain as Leeds United manager until the end of the season.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Whites and England defender claimed Bielsa will always be a “hero” but his current rut is similar to Arsene Wenger’s final days at Arsenal.
As quoted by Leeds Live after the 6-0 defeat to Liverpool yesterday (23 February), the Argentine revealed the club hierarchy had yet to express any doubts but the result at Anfield may raise some.
The Yorkshire giants are now on a winless run of five Premier League games and have conceded 16 goals in their last four games.
They are just three points from Burnley in 17th who have two games in hand.
Asked whether he thought Bielsa would quit, Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “No.“
He added: “I think he will stay until the end of the season. I don’t see it changing.
“It’s a bit like Arsene Wenger at Arsenal, he needed a goalkeeper, a centre-half, a holding midfield player. But it was like ‘No, I’m going to keep proving you wrong’.
“You almost feel as though that’s what Bielsa is in at the moment, he thinks ‘It’s successful, it’s my way and I will you show it’s my way’.

“The system was amazing to start with. Got promoted to the Premier League and it was brilliant. In the first season, it was new, it was high energy and it was different to any team played was successful.
“I don’t think Bielsa will go and he’ll be always a hero at Leeds for getting them back into the Premier League.”
