Leeds United news: Pundit drops verdict on ‘exciting’ Daniel Farke reveal – ‘Oh my God’
Daniel Farke deserves a new deal at Leeds United following his “amazing” debut campaign.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Celtic and West Ham United striker Frank McAvennie hailed the German for the high-quality brand of football he has brought to Elland Road.
As revealed by Football Insider (15 February), Farke is set to be offered a “big” new deal in the summer if he manages to get the Whites back to the Premier League.
The 47-year-old only joined Leeds last summer on a four-year deal, but he has led them to eight consecutive wins in the Championship and has them well-placed for promotion.
Daniel Farke could be in line for a bumper new contract at Leeds United, and McAvennie feels he deserves it
McAvennie warned that injuries to key stars could curtail their exceptional campaign, but was confident that they would earn an automatic return to the Premier League.
“Leeds have had a few good managers in recent seasons,” he told Football Insider.
“But Farke has been amazing for them.
“He’s got them playing with an exciting style of football and he’s done really well.
“He deserves a new contract, oh my God.
“Winning those eight games in a row was great, but it can always turn.

“Injuries can be a nightmare if they don’t have that strength in depth, but Leeds are fine in that regard.
“If he can keep all their players together and fit, they can go on a run and stay in the automatic playoff places.”
