Leeds United news: Pundit gutted by ‘massive’ Patrick Bamford update – ‘A real shame’
Patrick Bamford’s latest injury is a “massive” blow for Leeds United.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Aston Villa and Rangers defender Alan Hutton suggested that the 30-year-old seemingly faces a fresh setback as soon as he is on a good run of form.
The Englishman suffered a calf injury while warming up for the Whites’ 4-0 win against Swansea City last week (13 February).
Daniel Farke revealed ahead of their Leicester City showdown that Bamford is unlikely to be in contention against the Foxes on Friday evening (23 February), but will “definitely” be available next week ahead of their FA Cup fifth-round tie against Chelsea.
Leeds star Patrick Bamford suffers yet another setback
After a slow and widely criticised start to the season, Bamford has found red-hot form having bagged four goals and one assist in his last six Championship starts.
Hutton hailed the striker’s “outstanding” form and was confident that he will hit the ground running once he returns.
“It’s been a massive problem for him,” he told Football Insider.
“Injuries have been a huge issue for Bamford through the years and it’s not ideal for him considering his form.
“But there’s nothing he can do about it.
“He can’t tell when he’s going to get injured and it’s just a real shame for him.
“We all know he can be an outstanding football player and has been recently.

“He’s technically gifted and I think he will come back as strong.
“But as soon as he hits form, he seems to get injured.”
