Leeds United news: Pundit issues ‘unbelievable’ Andrea Radrizzani claim after Phil Hay update
Frank McAvennie insists Elland Road must be united if Leeds are to successfully avoid relegation.
The former West Ham hitman, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claims everyone associated with the Whites must pull in the same direction.
Leeds fell to a 3-0 loss to Aston Villa on Thursday (10 March), their sixth straight defeat.
Elland Road was half-empty at full-time with The Athletic’s Phil Hay claiming at the time fans were “voting with their feet”.
McAvennie was stunned to hear this and slammed the club’s owners for several mistakes over the last few months.
“I just can’t understand it, if you are getting rid of Bielsa you have to appoint someone who knows what they are doing,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“Who is this guy? I bet the fans are asking as well. I think it was the first time the fans have turned on the owners [V Aston Villa].
“That’s not good. You need everyone pulling in the same direction when it comes to a relegation fight.
“I have said countless times how important Elland Road is for Leeds. That place can win you points when it’s rocking.
“I can’t believe it was half empty by full-time the other night, like I say, not good at all.
“I hope they can turn it around but some of the decisions they have made this season are so strange.

“They needed transfers in January, I think that’s why some fans are annoyed.
“It was obvious and they have money. They just didn’t do it for whatever reason.”
