Leeds United news: Pundit ‘shocked’ by one thing he saw from senior stars at Everton
Alan Hutton has admitted he was “shocked” by the “lack of desire” from the Leeds United players in Saturday’s 3-0 defeat to Everton.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Scotland defender admitted he “fears” for the Whites heading into their upcoming games against Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham.
Goals from Seamus Coleman, Michael Keane and Anthony Gordon condemned Marcelo Bielsa’s men to defeat at Goodison Park.
The Whites now sit 15th in the table, six points off the relegation zone.
Hutton was at Goodison Park to watch the game.
He admitted Leeds’ lack of “momentum” is a real concern heading into their upcoming fixtures.
However, he insisted there was a worrying lack of hunger from the players on Merseyside.
Asked what the biggest concern was for Leeds after watching on in person, Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “A lack of desire that was the main thing.
“When you look at Leeds and the position that they’re in, that was an opportunity for them to create a little bit of distance.
“You’d think that would be enough to spur them on. It wasn’t and that was the bit that shocked me the most.
“I worry for them if I’m totally honest. Of course, they have got the ability to score goals. If you look through their previous games, they do score. It’s how much they concede.
“With the games coming up, you would definitely fancy the other teams in this situation. That drags them further into that relegation zone.
“Momentum is such a key thing. If you lose the next two or three games, it drags you right into it. Then it becomes a serious problem.
“I fear for them, more than I think they can actually get out of this and climb the table.”

Leeds sit one point ahead of Everton, having played one game more.
Meanwhile, bottom-placed Burnley could close the gap to three points if they win their two games in hand.
In other news, pundit claims one Leeds United star may have told his agent he wants to leave right now.
