Leeds United are keeping tabs on Sevilla sensation Lucas Ocampos ahead of the summer window, Football Insider can reveal.

The Argentina international winger, 26, is attracting interest from Premier League clubs as a result of his La Liga exploits.

A Leeds source has told Football Insider the club are monitoring the situation of Ocampos as they assess potential attacking targets.

The five-times international is a countryman of Marcelo Bielsa and a player regarded as capable of lighting up the English top flight.

The Midlands giants have trailed him since his Marseille days, and continued to assess him since his £13million transfer to Sevilla in 2019.

Ocampos has three years left on his Sevilla contract, which contains a release clause of £62m.

That is not a fee that Leeds would be willing to pay, or could afford, and it is the same for Wolves.

But it is likely the Spanish club would be prepared to sell him far cheaper as the pandemic wreaks financial chaos across Europe.

Leeds would likely have to sell some first-team stars to fund a summer spending spree.

One player who is vulnerable is Helder Costa and Football Insider revealed on 20th March that United are willing to listen to offers for him this summer.

Ocampos scored the goal to knock Wolves out of the Europa League last August in a dazzling 17-goal debut campaign.

The left winger has followed that up by scoring seven times and providing four assists from 35 matches this campaign.
