Leeds United news: Medical expert issues unexpected Junior Firpo update after season-ending fear
Junior Firpo could be back in action in just a month as he recovers from a medial collateral ligament injury at Leeds United.
That is the view of injury expert Ben Dinnery, who runs the Premier Injuries site and has a background in medicine and data analysis.
Firpo, 25, missed Leeds’ dramatic 2-1 win over Norwich City last Sunday (13 March) with a knee injury.

The Spaniard, a summer signing from Barcelona, was stretchered off with oxygen in the Whites’ 3-0 defeat to Aston Villa last Thursday (10 March).
As quoted by talkSPORT the next day, Whites boss Jesse Marsch claimed: “It’s probably something on the inside of his knee like an MCL.”
Both Leeds and Firpo will want to avoid surgery, claims Dinnery, who delivered a verdict that is far more upbeat than fans might expect.
The general consensus is that Firpo will not play again this season.
“In terms of the MCL, it has a really good response to conservative treatment,” he told Football Insider’s Adam Williams.
“That is the route they will go down the majority of the time. The response to non-surgical treatment is positive.
“If it’s around a grade two, it could be four to six weeks. There are always caveats to this. We often have to fill in a lot blanks.
“Injuries can evolve and prove to be more or less serious than initially thought, so we’ll have to wait and see what else is said.”

Firpo has supplied one assist in 22 appearances this season.
His Leeds side are 16th after the win over Norwich and are next in action against Wolves tomorrow (18 March).
