Leeds United stars ‘bricking it’ as relegation picture tipped to get ‘even worse’ – pundit
Leeds United are looking over their shoulder after midweek results went against them.
That’s according to former West Ham hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider ahead of the Whites’ return to action.
On Wednesday (20 April) and Thursday (21 April) respectively, Everton drew with Leicester while Burnley beat Southampton.
This leaves Leeds just five points off the relegation zone ahead of Monday’s (25 April) game against Crystal Palace.
The Toffees also have a game in hand on Jesse Marsch’s side.
McAvennie claims Leeds are now right back in the relegation picture.
“Leeds were never safe, I’ve always said that,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“They haven’t done enough and they deserve to be where they are. The good news is that it is still in their hands.
“But they are definitely looking over their shoulder now, there is no doubt about it.
“There are some big games left for them this season as well. Man City, Arsenal, Chelsea, they aren’t easy games.
“Another loss and then Everton and Burnley win, which isn’t out of the question, things get even worse.
“I still think they will be fine but I’m sure some of the guys at Leeds will be bricking it a bit now.”

Everton also face a tricky run-in, with crucial games against Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal on the horizon.
