Leeds United to ‘cash in’ on Summerville after latest – ‘It’s massive’, says pundit
Leeds United will cash in on Crysencio Summerville if they fail to achieve promotion back to the Premier League.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Rangers and Aston Villa defender Alan Hutton was amazed by the Dutchman’s “unbelievable” output in the Championship this season and claimed his Leeds future depends on the club’s status in May.
Summerville has bagged 15 goals and eight assists in all competitions this season – comfortably Leeds’ top scorer.
He was reportedly of interest to Premier League sides in January after he declined three offers to leave Elland Road last summer.
He recently bagged two goals in the Whites’ 3-0 victory against Rotherham United – his third Championship brace of the season.
Crysencio Summerville’s Leeds United future in major doubt
Hutton tipped the 22-year-old to go for a mega-money fee should he be sold, but claimed Daniel Farke’s side would be very keen to keep him if they return to the top flight.
“Summerville will be worth a lot even if they don’t get promoted,” he told Football Insider.
“Leeds will look to maximise his value and get the most out of him, but they’ll want to keep him.
“They might have an opportunity to keep him if they go up.
“But if it doesn’t work out for them this season, they’ll look to cash in on him.
“His numbers are unbelievable.
“The Championship is a tough league, so 15 goals and eight assists is excellent.
“He’ll score and assist more between now and the end of the season, so his market value will only go up.

“However, it does all depend on where Leeds end up finishing.
“They will have a massive decision to make.”
