Leeds United transfer news: Joe Rodon stance on permanent move revealed – Sources
Joe Rodon is interested in a permanent move to Leeds United – but only if they earn promotion back to the Premier League, sources have told Football Insider.
It is believed that the Welshman is happy at the Yorkshire giants amid his excellent loan spell from Tottenham.
As revealed by Football Insider (12 February), Spurs are looking for between £10-15million to sell Rodon next summer, with Ange Postecoglou’s side eager to cash in.
Rodon is expected to be of interest across the Premier League following his standout displays in the Championship, but his stance on staying at the club is a major boost for the Whites.
Daniel Farke’s side are very keen to retain the 26-year-old’s services, but as revealed by Football Insider (9 February), they would struggle to complete a deal if they remain in the second tier next season.
Leeds United have received a significant Joe Rodon boost
Well-placed sources have told Football Insider that the club would struggle to convince Rodon to stay in the Championship next season, while his cost would be a significant amount of their summer budget.
Rodon has made 31 appearances in all competitions for Leeds this season and has been crucial in helping them earn the second-best defensive record in the Championship – second only to league leaders Leicester City.

Leeds remain third in the Championship table following their 3-0 win against Rotherham United on Saturday (10 February).
They are next in action away against Swansea City on Tuesday evening (13 February).
