Daniel Farke has new Brenden Aaronson plan amid Leeds whispers
Daniel Farke is planning to utilise Brenden Aaronson as an important part of his Leeds United squad, sources have told Football Insider.
The 25-year-old started the first two Premier League games of the season, but has since been dropped to the bench, leading to doubts about his role in Farke's ambitious plans.
He penned a new contract at Elland Road last month, but that has done little to ease the speculation surrounding his future at Leeds and his place in the first-team squad.
However, as I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, Leeds have no doubts about Aaronson's future as he remains part of Farke's plans.
The USA international is highly thought of at Elland Road, and while he is not always regarded as a key member of the starting XI, he still brings plenty of value to the squad.
As a result, Leeds are dismissing any speculation about his future at the club and will stick to the long-term contract which they were keen for him to sign in August.
Could Leeds listen to offers for Brenden Aaronson?
Football Insider revealed on 25 September that Leeds will not entertain speculation about Aaronson's future and feel he still has an important role to play for them.
That is despite question marks about his playing time, place in the squad, and long-term role as they continue plans to strengthen going forward.
Farke has been clear, however, having given the USA international minutes in every game so far this season, and he views him as a key part of his deeper squad.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "Leeds don't have any plans to let Brenden Aaronson go. As you said, they gave him a new contract in the summer until 2029.
"He's maybe not been a regular starter this season because of Noah Okafor playing behind Calvert-Lewin in that formation that Daniel Farke likes.
"But he certainly still has a role to play for Leeds, he has figured in every game so far this season, coming off the bench recently in most games.
"He's still got a big role to play, Daniel Farke is still planning to count on Brenden Aaronson as part of his squad, and he will get plenty of opportunities at Leeds.
"So I don't think Leeds will be open to any idea of letting the American leave regardless of the speculation surrounding him."
How does Aaronson feel about leaving Leeds?
Farke moved to bolster his options in attacking midfield with the additions of Harry Wilson and Jean-Matteo Bahoya, while Noah Okafor and Dominic Calvert-Lewin lead the line.
That led to question marks about Aaronson's role in the side, and despite Fakre planning to use him as a key squad player, the midfielder may be left frustrated by his playing time.
However, Football Insider revealed last month that Aaronson has been keen to stay and fight for his place at Leeds regardless of the speculation surrounding him.
Having opted to pen a new deal in the summer, he is hopeful of working his way back into the starting XI and playing a key role in Leeds' ambitous plans.
After a strong start to the season, they are hopeful of a successful campaign, and Farke will need his whole squad pulling in the same direction to make that happen.
