Sources: Leeds make clear Brenden Aaronson transfer plan

Leeds United are not planning to entertain speculation about Brenden Aaronson's future, sources have told Football Insider.

That is despite doubts about the 25-year-old's role under Daniel Farke and whether he will remain a key part of his ambitious plans for the future.

Despite having put pen to paper on a new contract at Elland Road in August, to extend his stay until 2029, questions have been asked about his long-term future.

However, as I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, Aaronson still has a role to play under Farke and his future is not up for discussion.

The USA international started the first two Premier League games of the season before dropping to the bench in recent weeks, but has been relied upon as a substitute.

While Aaronson's involvement has decreased over the last few games, he remains a valuable asset for Farke and will play a key role in any success Leeds have this season.

Could Leeds accept offers for Brenden Aaronson?

Football Insider revealed on 1 August that Leeds were looking to deter potential interest in Aaronson by offering him a new contract to commit his long-term future to the club.

Later that month, he penned an extension which removed any uncertainty over his future, and despite some suggestions that he could still move on, that is unlikely.

Aaronson has played a key role in helping Leeds establish themselves in the Premier League and will continue to do so with Farke counting on him this season.

Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "I don’t think Leeds have any plans to let Brenden Aaronson go despite the speculation about his place in the squad.

"As you said, they gave him a new contract in the summer until 2029, so that shows their commitment to him as part of their squad.

"He's maybe not been a regular starter this season because of Noah Okafor playing behind Calvert-Lewin in that formation that Daniel Farke likes.

"But he's still got a role to play in this Leeds squad, so any suggestions that he could be in line for a move away are being dismissed."

How does Aaronson feel about his Leeds future?

Amid ongoing doubts and questions asked about Aaronson's future at Leeds, much could depend on the player and whether he is happy in his current role under Farke.

Having opted to pen a new deal in the summer, there are unlikely to be any doubts for the midfielder, with any speculation about his future quickly being squashed.

Football Insider revealed last month that Aaronson has been keen to stay and fight for his place at Leeds, despite understanding that he is not a regular starter.

Farke has since moved to bolster his options in attacking midfield with the additions of Harry Wilson and Jean-Matteo Bahoya, which could impact the USA international.

However, he has featured in every game for Leeds so far this season, and is happy to continue to do so as long as he is needed.
