Sources: Dominic Calvert-Lewin's Leeds United plan revealed
Dominic Calvert-Lewin has no plans to seek a move away from Leeds United in the near future, sources have told Football Insider.
The 29-year-old has been well and truly back to his best over the last 12 months, and has established himself as one of the best strikers in the league under Daniel Farke.
Those performances, which have continued into the new season, have most recently earned him a call-up to Thomas Tuchel's England squad ahead of the international break.
As I revaeled on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, Calvert-Lewin is very happy at Leeds and is not entertaining any talk of a potential departure.
That is despite suggestions from elsewhere that a big move could be on the cards for the striker, with clubs believed to have been impressed by his recent performances.
Leeds, however, took the gamble on brining Calvert-Lewin to Elland Road following his exit from Everton while others shied away, and are now reaping the rewards of their decision.
Why is Dominic Calvert-Lewin's future being discussed?
Football Insider revealed on 19 September that Leeds have been left unhappy with Michael Owen after he suggested Calver-Lewin should be playing for a "bigger club".
Man United were tipped as potential suitors, having considered making a move before he arrived at Elland Road, but those links have come in spite of Leeds' stance.
The striker remains a crucial part of Farke's ambitious plans after a strong start to the season, while he believes he can continue playing his best football at Leeds.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "Calvert-Lewin seems to be very happy with life at Elland Road.
"It was Leeds that gave Calvert-Lewin the chance on a free transfer when he left Everton, and he's really repaid them, he's been outstanding for them in the last 12 months.
"The focus for Calvert-Lewin is just about staying fit, he always showed the potential when he was at Everton but just couldn't stay fit enough.
"It looks like he's overcome those injury problems and is becoming a real problem for Premier League defences again. He's under contract until 2028 and he's enjoying his time at Leeds.
"They won't be expecting to lose Calvert-Lewin and look, Leeds are going from strength to strength, so why would he want to leave right now anyway?"
How do Leeds feel about selling Calvert-Lewin?
While Calvert-Lewin is keen to remain at Elland Road for the foreseeable future, much will depend on whether Leeds are keen to move him on amid interest from elsewhere.
The possibility to raise a significant fee for a player they brought in for free just one year ago could be tempting ahead of the January transfer window.
However, Football Insider revealed on 20 September that Leeds have no plans to let Calvert-Lewin leave the club and will not entertain offers for him any time soon.
Following a two-goal display against Newcastle United, speculation about his future had ramped up, but those suggestions have now been dismissed.
Instead, Leeds view Calvert-Lewin as a big part of their plans for the future and hope he will be able to continue his outstanding form under Farke's guidance.
