Tarik Muharemovic 'tempted' to quit Leeds and join Premier League rival
Tarik Muharemovic could be tempted to leave Leeds United at the end of the season amid interest from Premier League rivals.
The 23-year-old has been outstanding under Daniel Farke since his big-money move in the summer transfer window and has established himself as a key part of Leeds' plans.
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Muaremovic is likely to be interested in a move away from Leeds if they are not successful this season.
Farke's side have set lofty ambitions to qualify for Europe, but failure to do so could see their best players tempted by interest from elsewhere, which will be a concern.
However, there are no immediate fears over Muharemovic's future, with no plans to let him leave during the January window and optimism they can keep him long-term.
How do Leeds feel about Tarik Muharemovic?
Football Insider revealed on 13 October that Leeds are fearful of losing Muharemovic as a result of the growing interest from Premier League and European clubs.
The 23-year-old has been outstanding since his £34.1million move to Elland Road in the summer, and should he move away, it would come as a huge blow to Farke's side.
Leeds are confident of keeping hold of the centre-back in the immediate future, but must continue to push for their ambitious plans if they wish to deter his suitors.
"Any player would be tempted by offers if the right teams came along, it's as simple as that," Brown told Football Insider.
"Muharemovic is no different, because he's playing well for Leeds in the Premier League and attracting suitors, but he could be offered the chance to make a step up.
"When you look at which clubs need to sign a centre-back, you're looking at Liverpool, Manchester United, maybe Arsenal as well, and those clubs are bound to be of interest to him.
"It's not something I would expect to see in January, Leeds are pretty clearly going to be reluctant to let him go because he's such an important part of what they're trying to do.
"But if we get to the end of the season and they fall short of their ambitions of qualifying for Europe, those interested clubs may well be ready to tempt him away."
Which clubs are interested in signing Muharemovic?
Speculation about Muharemovic's future at Leeds has come as a result of his impressive performances in the Premier League, sparking interest from England's top clubs.
However, there is interest from across Europe as well as in the English top flight, with a number of elite clubs keeping a close eye on his situation at Elland Road.
Football Insider revealed on 3 October that Muharemovic is at the top of the lists of a number of Premier League clubs, as well as the likes of Barcelona and Inter Milan.
After an impressive season in Serie A which earned him a big-money move to Leeds, a return to a top European club could appeal to the centre-back.
Bayern Munich have also been spoken about in connection with a move for the centre-back, with Vincent Kompany looking to strengthen his back line in the near future.
