Leeds United defender Pascal Struijk has sent the fanbase a message following the conclusion of the Premier League season.

The Yorkshire club managed to secure their top flight status in their first season back in the Premier League for two years.

Daniel Farke's side finished the season strong, with their final day defeat at West Ham ending an eight-game unbeaten run in the league.

Farke also managed to lead Leeds to a first FA cup semi-final since 1987, with Struijk appearing 37 times under the German manager last season, as he played a key part in the club's success.

Struijk is the subject of transfer interest at Leeds amid his fine season at Elland Road, and Farke may find it tough to keep the 26-year-old after eight years at the club.

Pascal Struijk urged to sign new Leeds contract

Days after defeat at West Ham, Struijk took to social media to say a "thank you" to the fans for their support this season.

Struijk said: "What a season it has been. Thank you for making us believe, fight and dream together," with a yellow and blue love heart emoji.

Joe Rodon responded to the Dutchman by calling him "my pirate," alongside a brick wall and a white love heart emoji.

Fellow Leeds teammates Joel Piroe and Jayden Bogle also replied to the post, whilst supporters were calling on Struijk to stay at the club next season.

Supporters want Struijk to sign a new long-term contract, with his current deal set to expire in 2027.

Leeds keeping tabs on Liverpool star

Farke has made it clear to the Leeds ownership that he wants to be backed in the transfer market, as he has called for the club to match his ambitions.

That would certainly suggest that Farke wants to keep Struijk at the club, whilst also adding extra depth and quality to his squad.

Sources have told Football Insider that Harvey Elliott would be keen to join Leeds, if the Whites put in an offer to sign the 23-year-old this summer.

It is believed that Leeds are one of a number of clubs that could be interested in signing the midfielder this summer, as he prepares to leave Liverpool.

Elliott had a disastrous loan spell at Aston Villa this season, making just nine appearances throughout the campaign, meaning they did not activate the option to sign the Englishman on a permanent deal.
